A home was purchased in Bellevue, Iowa and was operated as a licensed Residential Care Facility for the Intellectually Disabled (RCF/ID). In the same year, Mahaska Diamond Shelter in Oskaloosa began providing hourly services to 4 individuals living independently under the Community Supervised Apartment Living Arrangement (CSALA) program.

1986

Jackson County Developmental Activity Center officially changed its name to DAC, Inc. in March 1986. The agency at that time provided services to 25 individuals.

The board of directors in Oskaloosa realized their dream when a fifteen bed group home licensed as a Residential Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (RCF/ID) was opened on South 11th Street that would provide residential services to adults with disabilities.

Established under the name Mahaska Diamond Shelter in October 1977, Imagine the Possibilities was incorporated as a private, not-for-profit corporation in Iowa.
